Liquid Vacuum Trucks for Rent

A liquid vacuum truck is a tank-mounted vacuum unit built to pump, transport, and offload liquids and pumpable slurries such as septic waste, wastewater, sludge, and industrial liquids. It uses strong vacuum suction rather than the high-pressure water cutting used for digging.

A liquid vacuum truck is a vacuum unit built around a sealed, liquid-rated tank and a vacuum pump, designed to draw liquids and pumpable slurry up a suction hose, haul them, and offload at an approved disposal point. Unlike a hydrovac truck, it does not use a high-pressure water system to cut soil for digging; it is optimized for moving liquids that already exist on site, from thin wastewater to thicker sludge.

Rental units are commonly used for septic and holding-tank pumping, portable restroom servicing, municipal and industrial wastewater transfer, grease-trap and food-processing waste, sump and lift-station cleanout, and oilfield produced water or drilling mud. Tank sizes and pump configurations vary widely, so the right unit depends on the volume you need to haul, the thickness of the liquid, and whether the load is regulated. For hazardous or regulated liquids, look for units with the appropriate tank certification (CSA B620 / TC-406) and trained operators (TDG/WHMIS, H2S Alive, DOT).

Vac4Rent is a marketplace to rent liquid vacuum trucks and the wider range of vacuum trucks and vac trailers, operated by the Hydrovac News family of brands with more than 34 years of industry experience. You submit one rental request describing your job and location, and we connect you with rental companies serving your area who reply directly by email or phone with availability and pricing. There is no commission and there are no booking fees, and Vac4Rent does not set or publish rental rates.

How it works

A liquid vacuum truck creates suction with a vacuum pump, commonly a liquid-ring pump or a positive-displacement (PD) blower, that evacuates air from the sealed tank so atmospheric pressure pushes liquid up the suction hose and into the tank. A primary shutoff or float valve protects the pump from overfilling as the tank reaches capacity. To offload, the operator either reverses the pump to pressurize the tank or opens a discharge valve, pushing or draining the load out at an approved disposal site.

What a liquid vacuum truck is used for

Septic & holding-tank pumping

Pump residential and commercial septic tanks, cesspools, and holding tanks, then haul the load to an approved disposal facility.

Municipal & industrial wastewater

Transfer wastewater, sludge, and process liquids at treatment plants, industrial facilities, and construction dewatering sites.

Sump, pit & lift-station cleanout

Vacuum out sumps, wet wells, lift stations, and containment pits where standing liquid or thin slurry needs to be removed.

Grease trap & food-processing waste

Pump fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from restaurant traps and food-processing effluent for compliant offsite disposal.

Oilfield & regulated liquids

Move produced water, drilling mud, and pumpable slurry, using units with the correct tank certification and trained operators for regulated loads.

Portable restroom servicing

Pump and refresh portable toilet units and event sanitation stations on a scheduled or on-call basis.

Spill response & liquid recovery

Recover spilled liquids, standing water, and light slurries for containment, transport, and disposal after an incident.

When to choose a liquid vacuum truck

Choose a liquid vacuum truck when the job is mostly pumping and hauling liquids or pumpable slurry rather than excavating soil or vacuuming heavy dry debris. If you need to dig safely around buried utilities, choose a hydrovac truck instead; for lifting dense dry material or long-distance dry material conveyance, an air vacuum truck is a better fit; and for combined high-pressure sewer jetting plus vacuum recovery, a combination (combo) truck is the match. A liquid ring vacuum truck is a closely related option built specifically around a liquid-ring pump for high, continuous wet-vacuum duty.

Liquid Vacuum Truck rental FAQ

What is a liquid vacuum truck used for?+

It is used to pump, transport, and offload liquids and pumpable slurries such as septic waste, wastewater, sludge, grease-trap waste, and industrial liquids. It vacuums existing liquid off the site rather than cutting soil for excavation.

What is the difference between a liquid vacuum truck and a hydrovac truck?+

A hydrovac truck adds a high-pressure water system that cuts and liquefies soil so it can be vacuumed up for safe, non-destructive digging. A liquid vacuum truck has no digging water jets; it only vacuums and hauls liquids or slurry that are already present.

How large are liquid vacuum truck tanks?+

Tanks commonly range from about 1,500 to 5,000 gallons, with smaller units for tight-access septic work and larger units for industrial hauling. Actual capacity varies by unit, so confirm the size with the rental company when you request.

Can a liquid vacuum truck haul hazardous or regulated liquids?+

Only if the tank and operator carry the right certifications, such as a CSA B620 / TC-406 certified tank and TDG/WHMIS, DOT, or H2S Alive trained operators. Describe your material when you submit a request so companies can match a compliant unit.

Does Vac4Rent set the rental rate?+

No. Vac4Rent does not set or publish rental rates. You submit one request and rental companies reply directly by email or phone with availability and pricing. There is no commission and there are no booking fees.

How do I rent a liquid vacuum truck near me?+

Submit one rental request describing your job and location, and we connect you with rental companies serving your area. They reply directly by email or phone, so you can compare availability and pricing off-platform.
